Should I pick English or Western? My lack of balance is the only thing keeping me from riding English.?

I think i might like to try riding English,but my balance and coordination isn't good at all.I start lessons on Saturday,and I'm thinking of asking my instructor if i can switch to English(i told her i wanted to do Western) she trains in both disciplines. I'm almost a complete greenhorn,as i've only ridden maybe 7 times in my whole life.Is it alright to ask if English'd be good for me,since I've already said I want to ride Western?
