Keeping turtle tank clean?

I've had my turtle a couple of months now and the tank gets so dirty! I clean the poop out and he doesn't eat in his tank. But I get a White layer on top of the water and White 'flakes' floating around the water, what is this? And how do you prevent it happening? It's such a long process cleaning the tank

I've been seeing a girl for the last couple months. We were talking and texting every day for about 6 weeks and were seeing each other about twice a week. Then she went on a vacation with family. I am 1.57 m high (5'2') and 43 kg (95 lb) and i want to lose some weight. please dont tell me im young or i dont need to lose weight. no rude comments! so the diet i'm following is: a cup of plain, no sugar added corn flakes for breakfast. nothing in between. then for lunch maybe fish or meat or pulses (im not sure but not something fried or with sauces and stuff). half a peach or half an apple or half a pear or a handful of gs for in between. nothing, or just a gl of orange juice for dinner. so how much weight can i lose if i follow this diet for 11 days and also excersice moderately and doing abs?

So, we thought that his eyes had air (lots of eye boogers) because when he was a kitty, his eyes would close up a lot. We let him be like that because we thought he was going to heal. He is a very healthy cat and usually his wounds heal up fast as so did his eyes do when he was a kitty. A week ped by and nothing happened. I soon saw his right eye bleeding with wet eye boogers and on top of the eye, hair removed. I think a car might of hit him because he can't see with his right eye, his natural eye is avocado green and this it was like a disease bluish and now it is more red and mixed with a little of that blue. Point is, I didn't take him to the vet or emergency because: 1. We thought he was gonna heal 2. We didn't check him well 3. It costs too much to fix pets (I once had a cat who was so kind and she wanted to share food with my dog and that dog doesn't like to share her food and bit her head and my poor kitties eye popped out of her head, it didn't fall, and we took her to the vet emergency and they charged us $1,000 just to push her eye in and sew it up) I don't want him to keep on suffering, so what should I do? Take him to be put to sleep or call animal control? Will any of them get mad at us for not taking care of him and maybe take legal action, charge us a penalty, fine, punish us? How much would they charge to put him to sleep? Will animal control charge us to pick him up? PLEASE HELP!

HELP! My budgie's leg might be broken?!?

I'm currently in the middle of a menstrual cycle. Two menstrual cycles ago I had a light period with very light bleeding when it happened. However, I took a pregnancy test about two weeks later that was negative. I had been worried because, while we used a condom, I had been flaking on the pill. A couple weeks later I had again (I don't remember ovulating, but I may be wrong), after being on the pill at the same time every day and using a condom. However, a week and a half or so later I missed my period again. I have taken four pregnancy tests since then, all negative -- but I know there can be false negatives. I've had few symptoms (none of the common ones), but I did have bad unexplained leg pain for a couple days and some back pain, but I also know that not every woman has symptoms. I was supposed to get my period this week, and I thought I had due to heavy cramping, but it's just small amounts of brown discharge at the moment, which happens at the beginning of pregnancies. I've also heard that even if you do have some bleeding, you may still be pregnant. I'm planning on taking another pregnancy test in a few days, but am I just being paranoid? Is there actually a chance that I might be pregnant? Or is it likely just how the pill has started to affect me? Thanks.

The best movie is Green Lantern, then Thor, Then 1st Cl. I like green lantern movie because it provides the perfect balance between action and comedy. Thor was pretty good but there was a LOT of cheesy scenes. 1st Cl didn't know what kind of movie it wanted to be. It tries to focus on Xavier and Magneto but then it ponders off and focuses on other superheros. And then back to X and Mag.

How to get rid of a dry nose?

I've had a really bad cold and my nose is super dry, like there's skin flaking off it & it's really sore. Normally I would just moisturize it, but it's not working. I don't want to use anything too greasy because it will break me out but I need a quick and easy way to solve this. Any suggestions? I've been using Olay cream on it & it stings like crazy at first. Very large lump in dogs leg? Help!?

Three weeks ago I took my 7 year old mastiff into the vet because her back left thigh swelled up about twice as big as normal literally overnight. She had begun limping 4 days prior, but i umed she slept on it wrong or twisted her ankle. But that morning when it was swollen she was crying and holding her leg completely off the ground. Our vet examined her and ended up taking xrays and a biopsy of her tissue. When he cut in to the tissue for the biopsy the swollen area popped and leaked out fluid. So our vet and the other vet decided to remove the metal plate she has in her leg due to a pevious injury. They were uming her bone was having an allergic reaction to the metal plate. I took her in for her two week check up and the swelling went down but know there is a huge lump in her thigh that is very hard. Her thigh is about 2x larger then it should be. It feels like bone. And she cannot bend her knee hardly. She is still in a lot of pain. The vet said to take her home and in two more weeks if there's no improvement he want to give her another xray and actually take the biopsy. It's almost time for her appointment and there is absolutley no improvement. I'm considering taking her to a orthopedic specialist instead. Can anyone help me figure out what this might be?

so my acne is between mild and moderate but its only on my cheeks. never any pustules just white heads. i talked to my doctor and he recommended differin gel, i only use it at night. and in the morning i use clindamycin 1% gel. im also taking tetracycline pills but i still have pimples, but the bad part is now im flaking rly bad. it also made my skin very sensitive. its so sensitive even when i chew i can feel my skin being streched when ever i open my mouth. i have been doing this routine for a week now and i heard its supposed to get worst before it gets better, is this true? also i need some advice on what face moisturizers i can use that wont clog pore and will get rid of all the flakes on my face. plz help

My belly ring fell out; should I just get it redone?

I got my belly piercing six months ago. Last month, when it was fully healed, the ball that screws onto the jewelery fell off, which ended up making the whole piercing fall out. My belly piercing didn't have a piece of jewelery in it for two days. After I bought a replacement and put it in, it sort of hurt and turned red. It's been a month and my piercing has been sore and red and the skin around it is hard and always looks super dry, like it's flaking off. Is there any way I can save my piercing? GE Spacemaker over-the-range Microwave repair?

I have a GE Spacemaker over-the-range microwave. Lately it has started giving problems. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it works it does heat up the food. When it doesn't work, the light inside the microwave comes on for a second and then it just makes a humming sound. What does it mean to repeat a cl?

So currently I have a D+ in my Honors Science cl, and I just MIGHT be able to bring it up to a C-, which is ping, by the 17th which is when all assigments are due. Do you think I can lose weight ?

I think that you definitely should lose weight. Though other answers have said that if you've been doing this for a while and you haven't lost any weight you won't lose weight, I think you probably have lost fat but you just don't know it. Usually when you start working out, your body loses fat but gains muscle, so even though you lose fat your weight doesn't change for a while (which is why I think weight isn't the best judgement of how obese a person is). I do think you should switch up your workout routine, though. It'll keep you from getting bored and it'll help you lose more weight. If your body gets too used to the same routine it won't react to it as fast as if you keep switching up the routines. Jump-roping's a great way to lose weight.

So this guy comes up to me on runescape. He tells me he wants me to say something for a pking video he's making. He's like lv 118 or something. So he says "want you to say 'welcome to [his name here, I dont remember it]'s second pking vid. He said he'll give me 4 mil to say that. he tells me to take off and bank everthing cept for my d chain d legs and dds. And I follow some other guy he has doing a different job (who also has three relatively expensive items). I start following thinking its suspicious, but when he says, "were gonna start filming in the wildy," I stop following. Does this sound like any familiar scam to you? Is it okay if i add med. to my main tank even though some fish are not sick?

my main tank is 30 gallons, it is heated,filtered,cycled and has 2 platies(male and female which is the sick one) and a male dwarf gourami along with 4 peppered cories and 2 ghost shrimp.i also got some snails in there and a hornwort plant. my female platy has a white spot right on top of its mouth(not on it) and it seems to be fungus. i have med. for that so is it okay to add it to the tank even though some fish are not sick. and will adding medicine to the tank kill the ghost shrimp,snails,or plants? if they will then what should i do? the only other tank i have is a 2.5 gallon tank,i can get some water from the 30g tank and put the med. in there along with the sick fish but when i put a sick fish in there they get stressed out and die even faster, i only got a heater for the smaller tank. so what should i do. and i was thinking of moving the 2 ghost shrimp into the 2.5 gallon tank and get a small filter for them and keep them in there because i had 3 ghost shrimp and one died because it wasnt able to find food, but whenever i drop in a bottom feeder tablet or shrimp pellets the cories always end up eating them and they dont share. or if they got a flake and they are eating it then the cories see that they got food so they scare them away and they drop it so if i put them in the small tank they are the only ones that will get the food so should i do this or is it too small.

Why put microwave over the range?

This seems to be very common, I see it all of the time, but it seems as if it would be unsafe to reach over the (possibly hot) range. Especially for children. Do you not let children use the microwave until they are tall enough to reach it without leaning on the stove top? I never even hear anyone bringing up the issue. Question about birth control side effects or other possible medical abnormality?

My gf is on the birth control quanese (sp?) which is the generic for seasonale. Recently she got her period but has had abonormal amounts of abdominal pain, vaginal swelling, and the blood and mucus ociated with her period has ranged from very spotty to heavy and black in color. I read the medical reviews on her birth control and found no reference to this as a side effect. Has anyone else had this problem or have any information pertaining to it. Why wont my new goldfish eat?

Yesterday I added two goldfish to a 25gallon tank. The tank had previously been used for tropical fish so the water had the right balance of bacteria and what not in. I've checked the water for ammonia, nitrates etc etc and all is good, the fish just don't seem hungry. They take no interest in the floating flakes and they will munch perhaps one pellet from the bottom of the tank and leave the rest. Any suggestions?

Help! Fantail goldfish floating!?

It sounds like you didn't 'cycle' your aquarium first, before you bought the fish. Also, you are way over-stocked!! You need about a 100 gallon tank for all of them. Plus, a high-quality filter that can clean 200 gallons of water per hour. Goldfish grow to about 15" - 24" in length. You have to vacuum the gravel weekly , or twice weekly, with Goldfish, as they produce a lot of feces. They always want to eat. They don't have a stomach, so will eat as often as you feed them. Feed them once per day. And only a very small amount or you will have a terrible mess on your hands trying to clear up the water from all the wasted food and feces. As for the floating fish, give him frozen peas from your freezer - take about 8 - 10 out of the bag, hold them under very hot water to thaw them out, and peal off the skin. Mush them up in your hand, and put in the tank. This often helps. With all the food you are giving it, it is probably constipated. I would not have bought the snails, as they multiply like crazy, and it's hard to get rid of them. Plus, they leave a lot of dirt behind, like Goldfish do. You said you are getting an air pump shortly. You should have had it before you bought the fish. It takes about 6 weeks to prepare your aquarium's water quality, BEFORE you get the fish. For a ten gallon aquarium, not a Bowl, you should only have one Goldfish in it. As your tank is 'cycling' , be prepared that you may lose some or all of your fish, due to all the toxins in the water during 'cycling'. Also, the slim Goldfish, (Comet) should not be in a tank with the other, slower Goldfish. You don't mix single-tailed Goldfish with Fantails. The bug-eyed fish, if they are black, are called Telescopic Black Moor Goldfish. You must change 25% of the water, DAILY, until the water clears up in a number of weeks. If you don't want a real messy tank, take out the plants! Only use plastic plants with Goldfish, as they shred the plants to pieces, which causes an awful mess in the aquarium. The Misty water problem, is the tank 'cycling' itself. While this is happening, NO fish should be in the tank. So, be prepared on very likely losing a lot of them.

I have recurring dreams sometimes :) For me, there are 2 types- dreams that literally happen again, or dreams that are somewhat different that happen in the same place and the dream before is like history. (If that makes sense) Sometimes, I like to use scented candles and stuff before I go to bed, and that helps! It may very well be a stress dream, with like, a trigger during the day. I've had a really bad cold and my nose is super dry, like there's skin flaking off it & it's really sore. Normally I would just moisturize it, but it's not working. My older sister has recently confided in me that she might have to make a doctor's appointment because her always on time never late and always regular period cycle hasn't came and it's been three weeks. She hasn't had since April and believes that she did have her period in May but she isn't too sure because according to her calender she forgot to mark it down for that month. I have been talking to a scorpio man for about two weeks and have known each other since april. I have been suffering with very itchy for about 5-6 years now, and I have not been ually active in all this time. The itch is so bad that I have to use a nail brush to scratch! when I finish having a good scratch it burns like fire on my genital lips, I think from all the scratching this skin flakes. There's no discharge of any kind it's just a very aggrovating itch! The itch is also on the outside of my area, I've tried creams galore and nothing is working at all. It's come to a stage I don't even want a man because of this problem. It's embarring for me in a big way! I'ts also inconveniencing my daily life because it's permanently itchy. okay i have this very very close friend who is a girl, and were very close in friendship, we talk every day and night. we call each other cute names, we used to say we love each other in the friendly way but we haven't done that in a awhile..ANYWAYS here are some things that i'm concerned with that might think she is a tease 1) we got into a big conversation and she said we should get married and have kids and live together, and she would bring this up for awhile..then she stopped and i found out she said the same thing to another guy..2) i give her a lot of complements on how pretty she is and sweet, all i get is a thank you or awwwwe..and nothing in return. 3) she makes you feel really really good about yourself saying she loves you and cares about you....but then later on never shows it.4) she can talk about other guys and how which ones are hot..but when i mention hot girls she gets pissed. 5) this one is stupid but...when i post a picture on facebook she never likes them..but she likes my other guy friends pictures and says cute and everything but not mine:/ to bad lol 6) she's flirt, and flirts with a lot of guys. BUT here's the thing..she is a sweet and nice girl..who i love a lot.but i think she is a tease because she makes a guy feel really really good about himself, but then does the same thing to another guy, i've tried ignoring her but it's like i'm on a leash and she keeps tugging and wont let me go, do you think i give her to much attention or is she really a tease and i'm wasting my time?

Beta Fish has fin rot. Not sure what meds to give him?

My two year old red Beta named Fred has recently contracted a slight case of fin rot. I say "slight case" because its only on the edges on his top fin and alittle more progressed on his bottom fins. Its however very troublesome to me as he is my fish and I love him. I`ve had a few betas in the past and they never got sick and lived 4ish years. I am not one of those beta ppl who keep the fish in a teeny tiny 1 gallon tank. My fish lives all by himself in a 10 gallon, filtered and heated tank. I change 25% of the water each week and add the appropriate clorine and othe harmful tap water chemical removers, along with a waste control additive which cuts down waste. I also add "cycle" to promote the good bacteria to benefit the cycling of ammonia to nitrite and nitrate. The temp in the tank is kept at a constant 80 degrees. This is the first time this has ever happened to me with any fish as I try my greatest to take good care of them! He eats beta flake fish food. Lately he hasn`t been eating as much, I figured he must not be too hungry, I fed him alittle less the next day. He them seemed lazy. I figured he might be getting old. I studied him and noticed the beginnings of fin rot. He just isn`t himself and this pains me because I`m worried he`s in pain. I DID RESEARCH ON FIN ROT AND THE PICS ONLINE SEEM TO MATCH UP WITH HIS CONDITION! So now I am worried because all the website tell me to give him this or that med, but then others contridict the first website saying that this and that med isn`t effective. So now I am confused. I added two tablespoons of kosher salt to the water to help keep the fins clean. Now I just need advice on what meds to get him. Thanks.

Good alternative to teflon?

does anyone know a good alternative to teflon for non-stick cookware? i'm looking for a pan to replace my 10" teflon one. it's actually my roommate's and she's leaving soon. i want something non-stick but without the potential of flaking off like teflon does after awhile. i use black irons for pretty much all my cooking but they're not good for eggs and other delicate foods. anyone have experience with the stainless pans or anything else? thanks for your help.

Interview attire for women...shoes!?

I have a job...a boring one but b/c of education budget cutbacks the company I'm working for might go out of business by the end of this year. I'm asking so I will be prepared ahead of time. I have a nice looking outfit (tailored & professional looking but in light pastel spring colors) BUT my problem is footwear. I have very wide problem feet so I can't wear any type of heel. As for flats...most are too narrow even in wide width. ...so all I'm left with is crocs (the uni ones...all women's styles are too narrow) and doc martens, both of which are very casual shoes. I have very limited income and lots of bills so my budget for "dressy" shoes is extremely tight....like less than $100. Ok...any ideas? I know crocs and doc martens would look hideous for an interview but would these be acceptable for someone like me?

Will a retainer make my teeth fall out if..?

If I haven't been to a dentist in a few years.. I lost dental insurance so I haven't been but I do brush regularly and they don't hurt and they are pearly white but since they haven't been checked in a long time I'm worried they might be unhealthy.. I got invisalign two days ago and my teeth feel very loose! Will they fall out since I'm not sure if they are completely healthy? Should I not wear the retainer? Also its tight and kinda difficult to remove is that a problem? I'm scared my teeth will come out with it lol

Why are my eyes so easily irritated by salt water?

every single time I go in the ocean my eyes get REALLY red and they burn like crazy! and I keep my eyes shut when a wave is coming. I literally shut them extremely tight just to make sure water doesn't get in. but somehow it finds a way when I open them again. but none of my friends have this problem. it might bother them a tiny bit and it goes away. but I actually have to wait a minute or so for the stinging to go away. any idea why this happens to just my eyes? any help is appreciated.. thanks!

Im worried about my opaline gourami.?

a few days ago i added a male opaline gourami to my 30g tank. it was shy and didnt eat anything that day so i just let it be. the next day it wouldnt eat anything i gave it. flake, small pellets, micro pellets, bloodworm, algea disk, and even tried frozen blood worm. i have tiger barbs in the tank with it and they have left it alone. the color of my gourami is nice and bright better than at the petstore. same with all my tigers. i was thinking my tigers were eating all the food and not letting my gourami eat. thats why i tried the small pellets. they are too big for the tigers to get in their moulths so they cant eat all the food. all this food was either omega 1 or hikari. the store fead this fish omega 1. i also had some snails in the tank that have vanished i think the gourami ate them, and live plants. im not too worried about the wealfare of the fish right now cause the color is good but later that might change any ideas?

Expecting mini horse..Why is she so big?

We have purchased a wild miniature horse herd, and one of the mares is expecting. We haven't gotten them yet but we are worried about her. She is like huge and her bag is also huge. We keep expecting her to have her baby any day but we are now concerned she might be pregnant with twins. What are the chances that she is? Or could she just be carrying the baby longer than normal? I mean her bag is like the size of a goats when its nursing. I've never seen a mares bag that big, its practically hanging between her legs. She also looks like she is uncomfortable walking because of the weight. We can't get a vet out to see her, what should we do?
